Range of Topics
The focus of this course will be on the young child - his development and his
learning environment. Child Development theories including Montessori, Erikson,
Bruner and Piaget will be explored. Students will be involved in observing
children, collecting and developing useful teaching resources, studying
various approaches to classroom management and curriculum presentation, and
presenting papers, reports or films for analysis and discussion. There will
also be an examination stressing practical application of the course information.
