Description
This course deals with a variety of approaches, teaching strategies and curricula, for
teaching French as a second language in elementary and secondary schools.
Objectives
The participant will acquire a better understanding of the theories, approaches and
methodology in the teaching of French as a second language, study aspects and
application of current curriculum used in programs for French as a second language in
British Columbia, study and practise teaching techniques and acquire skills in evaluating
second language teaching and learning. The focus will be on practical application of the
above and the integration of FSL within the Intermediate program. Participants will also
have an opportunity to practise their own French language skills.
