PRACTICES AND PRINCIPLES RELATED TO CLASSROOM
MANAGEMENT AND DISCIPLINE

An examination of some of the aspects of classroom management and disci-
pline will be considered. These range from theoretical and philosophical
issues to some practical procedures which can be applied to the classroom
situation. In addition, the legal precepts of school discipline established
by the Public Schools Act, are examined.
REQUIREMENTS:
1.
Attendance at and participation in twelve lecture/seminar sessions.
2.
The writing of two (2) papers (2-5 pages) which will account for
40% of the grade.
3.
The writing of a final examination based on Required Readings and
xeroxed materials distributed in the sessions (60% of the final grade.)
