OBJECI'IVE&
This course Is designed to Introduce you to:
- a representative sampling of children's literature
- ways of choosing appropriate literature for children
- methods of using literature with children
TOPICS:
This course will study selected aspects of children's literature which will
exemplify the following
- the meaning of story
- the history of children's literature
- defining children's literature
- examining children's books for suitability to children's stages of
development
- methods of sharing literature
- studying genre ( 1e foildore, picture books, novels)
- examining themes and Issues (le family, friendship, fears, death)
COURSE REQUIREMENTS:
- attending and participating in all parts of the course
