    Psychological approaches to motivation, learning and child development will be identified
    and their relevance and applicability to educational practice will be developed.
    Psychological issues to be dealt with will include the following:
    -- individual differences in learning: identifying learning strategies, cognitive styles
    and optimum environments;
    -- Heredity vs. Environment controversy;
    -- Evaluation and Measurement: intelligence testing, cultural bias
    in testing,teacher
    expectations;
    -- language acquisition: contemporary theories; age and second language acquisition.
