Why teach social studies? (reasons for social studies in the B.C. curriculum)

What should we teach in social.studies?

How should we teach It? approaches to teaching (for example - critical thinking within the social
studies, co-operative learning, social justice)
5.
How should we teach it? methods/strategies, lesson and unit development
6.
How should we assess it?
REQUIREMENTS
Students are expected to participate in all class discussions, complete assigned readings and
assignments.
