COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is introductory course is for those who are curious about learning and learners. The course offers a
range of learning experiences and strategies.
Topics will include:
What is learning? What is worth learning? How can learning be structured?
Who am I in the midst of learning? How and why do I learn?
How are schooling and learning related? Whose purposes are served?
Alternate models of learning.
ORGANIZATION:
Wednesday and Friday classes
School visits
REQUIREMENTS:
Regular attendance, preparation and participation -
25%
Informal and formal written responses - 40%
Class presentations -
15%
In-class final exam - 20%
REQUIRED READINGS:
Selected articles distributed by the instructor and peers
