    Range of Topics
    Psychological approaches to motivation, learning, child development and evaluation
    will be identified and their relevance and applicability to educational practice
    will be developed.
    Psychological issues to be dealt with will include the following:
    -- intrinsic vs. extrinsic control of learning.
    -- individual difference in learning: identifying learning strategies
    -- alternative educational environments
    ?

    -- evaluation and measurement: intelligence testing, teacher expectations,
    psychological effects of testing
    Reading
    The following general introductory text will be used (it can be purchased in the
    bookstore):
    Biehier, Robert, F. Psychology Applied to Teaching. Boston: Houghton
    Mifflin.
    In addition, recommended readings for specific topics will be placed "On Reserve"
    in the library (a few will also be available in the bookstore).
