The Senate Committee on Agenda and Rules (SCAR) had a discussion at its

meeting this week concerning the budget situation of the University and

.

potential cost reduction measures. The matter of the cost of Senate dinners,

Senate Committee catering and Senate meeting times was discussed at SCAR.

SCAR suggests that the normal meeting time for Senate be changed from 7:00

pm to 4:30 pm in order to reduce costs and to make Senate more accessible.

SCAR serves notice that this matter is to be considered at the next meeting of

Senate. Meanwhile SCAR welcomes comments from members of the

University community.
